For centuries, the Georgian people have cultivated and developed a horseriding culture. This document was created using archive materials from the Dadiani Palaces Historical and Architectural Museum, with due consideration given to other relevant sources. In relation to the topic at hand, it is critical to pay special attention to Georgian equestrian folk games, specifically Marula (long-distance horse racing). Horses have been used for transportation and as horsepower in agriculture. They played a significant role in campaigning and hunting. Hunting was historically thought to be the precursor to military duty because men were physically trained and displayed a variety of skills while hunting. Within the Samegrelo region, horses were integral to the local way of life. It is clearly demonstrated by materials obtained through archeological excavations, as well as historical records, ethnography, and folk poetry, which undeniably prove the role and significance of horses and horse-riding from the historical past to the present day, while taking into account certain changes. Thus, having had an important place in the life of the Samegrelo region, horses and horse-riding thereby reflect the distant past. There is no denying that Georgian horseback riding has advanced over time.
