Determination of aerodynamic forces acting on a flexible rod and its effect on the rod's tension and shape

The paper discusses issues of the mechanics of absolutely flexible rods, in particular, the influence of aerodynamic forces on the stressed-deformed state of the rod. Equilibrium equations are obtained and appropriate conclusions are drawn based on the results of numerical solution.
